Seafood and Maritime Training RTO 7074 vessels, ‘Navigator’ and ‘Seatrain,’ looking sharp after their annual maintenance was carried out at Cleanlift Marine by Hurricane Marine.

On the job-list: polishing, some fresh blue, antifouling, smart sign writing, stainless steel work and several other maintenance tasks ticked off.

Ready to head into the not-for-profit’s 40th year of providing top quality training in the aquaculture and maritime sector.

Hurricane Marine has just given Tassie’s ‘Mind Games’ some TLC with a cut and polish and a keel repaint and she’s looking sleek.

Hurricane Marine recently assisted commercial fishing boat ‘Katia’ recover and repair a broken stabiliser arm.

The longliner managed to navigate from 50 miles south of Maatsuyker Island in the Southern Ocean to Southport, where our team repositioned it back into its storage position.

The ‘Katia’ crew were then able to head back out and continue chasing Southern Bluefin Tuna.

The stabiliser arm was later repaired and reinstated, ensuring their next voyage was a much smoother one (as much as it could be!)

A 35ft steel vessel in Birchs Bay, in the beautiful D’Entrecasteaux Channel, which unfortunately met its end.

Hurricane Marine recently assisted in her recovery and removal to Oyster Cover.

The unfortunate outcome serves as a timely reminder of the importance of having appropriate insurance.

It makes the process significantly smoother for everyone involved — owners, contractors and Marine and Safety Tasmania - MAST.

Two Sydney to Hobart contenders, Ambition Sailing and AdvantEdge PD147, are having rigging works undertaken at Prince of Wales Bay by teams from Hurricane Marine, Sydney Rigging Specialists, Peter Johnston Ship Chandlers YachtCare and Elliotts crane hire pty ltd.

An effective synergy of skillsets to ensure these beauties are rigged and ready to perform at their peak.

A pretty little hump day throwback from a few weeks ago…(when clearly it wasn’t as gusty!)

One of Bridport’s finest marine builds and more recently one of Hurricane Marine’s neighbours at Prince of Wales Bay, Insta-Gator, heading off to the Southern Ocean to longline for Australian Bluefin Tuna.

Look closely and you can see some dolphins at the helm guiding it down the River Derwent.

Today Hurricane Marine got a slipway cradle back in action at a beautiful Taroona residence.

With access to the site being challenging, most of the work happens by water — and the easiest way to deliver the cradle was under a boat.

The cradle had the full treatment: sandblasted and repainted, new wheel bearings, steel repairs, plus fresh rollers and Teflon. Ready for many more years of service!
