A thrilling start to whale season today, with a pod of Orcas sighted off the southern coast of Phillip Island during our Seal Cruise.

The pod is suspected to include the well-known individuals Bent Tip and Split Fin, potentially stalking a juvenile humpback whale, offering glimpse into the behaviour of these apex predators.

Whale watching cruises start this Thursday. If this is how the season begins, we can't wait to see what comes next! 🐋

Growing up to 18m long, they’re recognised by their long pectoral fins and distinctive bushy blow rising above the ocean surface.

Meet the whales 🐋 The endangered southern right whale is one of the most distinctive whales seen along the Victorian coastline.

Recognised by their broad backs, lack of a dorsal fin and unique white markings on their heads. Look out for their V-shaped blow rising above the ocean surface before the whale appears.

As winter approaches, don’t let the whales take all the spotlight. We often begin finding more dolphins on our cruises, with pods regularly foraging close to shore as baitfish move along the coast. 🐬
