Coffs Harbour Airport plays a vital role in connecting seriously ill children in the region to essential medical facilities, including John Hunter Children's Hospital and the Sydney Children’s Hospital network. This connection is crucial in ensuring that our local children receive the care they need in a timely manner.

In recent years, our dedicated team at Coffs Harbour Airport has taken commendable steps to support Little Wings through their recycling initiative.

By recycling and donating our bottles and cans, we are actively contributing to fuelling Little Wings aircraft. Every 20 bottles recycled equals 1 Litre of fuel, which helps sustain their mission of providing transportation for these vulnerable children. Such efforts not only promote environmental responsibility but also empower community members to play an active role in supporting healthcare access for those in need.

We are honoured to support Little Wings through this initiative and through recent donations, and we thank the volunteer pilots and drivers for their unwavering support to the Coffs Harbour community.

Thank you Coffs Container Return, in helping us continue to support Little Wings.

Together, we are making a positive impact on the lives of seriously ill children and their families.

Wonderful news today with Qantas announcing a major increase to connectivity between Coffs Harbour and Sydney from late October.

The introduction of the Airbus A-220 on Sydney services is a very welcome boost to capacity on this important route. The A-220 is a state-of-the-art aircraft offering enhanced seating with increased pitch and width, greater overhead storage compartment capability, ambient LED lighting, business class offering and a quieter cabin with fast and free WIFI.

Operating initially on the final evening services on Monday and Tuesdays, transitioning to the second service of the day on Wednesdays to Saturdays representing a capacity uplift of 63 seats over the Dash 8. This change, along with a return to 26 services per week between the ports, up from 24 services per week, means Qantas are increasing overall capacity between the cities by around 1000 seats per week.

What a great way to travel between these two iconic locations!

What a great day at Coffs Harbour Airport today celebrating NAIDOC week 2025.

The morning kicked off with a wonderful performance by the Kulai School Kids, followed by an acknowledgement of country, flag raising ceremony and the inauguration of our very own yarning circle.

We were so privileged to have the City of Coffs Harbour Mayor join us in this wonderful celebration of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, the oldest continuous culture on earth.

The outdoor activities were then followed by a cake cutting ceremony and morning tea. We were even lucky enough to have the beautifully painted QantasLink Airbus A-220 “Minyma Kutjara Tjukurpa” (two women dreaming) operating the Melbourne to Coffs Harbour route today on an absolutely beautiful crystal-clear winters day. How lucky are we to live in such a wonderful region?

📢 Update 📢

Coffs Harbour Airport Pty Ltd (CHAPL) entered into a 50-year lease with a 49-year option of Coffs Harbour Airport from the City of Coffs Harbour (Council) in 2021. Since that date, Sunshine Coast Airport Pty Ltd has facilitated the establishment of the new business entity and supported the local operations team under a management services agreement. With the business now on a firm footing, CHAPL will assume full responsibility for management of the Airport and Enterprise Park and will establish a locally based management team.

From 1 July 2025 CHAPL will operate fully under local management. To lead the expanded CHAPL organisation its board has conducted a nationwide search for a suitably experienced and qualified CEO. It has appointed Mr Craig Shaw, currently the CEO of Broome International Airport, to fill this position. Mr Shaw will commence in the role in early November with current General Manager Frank Mondello retiring at the end of the year.
