The last six months has been quite hectic for us. Work has been pretty full on with most weekends worked. So the whole YouTube channel has been a bit neglected.
I think the farmers call it “Making hay while the sun shines”. The sun has definitely been shining.
I’ve been working on a plan for a few years now and the first part has become a reality…
We bought a van!!
It’s a 2016, Toyota Regius Ace (same as a Hiace but only the base model in Japan.)
3 litre turbo diesel in just the colour I waited for and most of all, it’s 4wd. It’s fresh out of Japan and we are the first Aussie owners.
We’ve named him Reggie but the grandkids have dubbed him Grandpa’s Fun Bus.
Starting with a bare shell, we plan on making a comfortable weekender. I’m not sure how I’m going to fit it out yet but with your help, we’re going to learn by our mistakes and hopefully end up with a great little van.
I have created another YouTube channel just for Reggie’s build as well as trying to being a little more consistent with the G’day, its Pete channel.
I will let you know what’s happening as soon as I can.
Be safe and we’ll see you down the road.
Thanks Pete and Barb.x

Day 4, 20-6-26.
After spending a lovely night at the Wyndham Resort in Torquay, it was another chilly start as we ventured further south along the Great Ocean Road.
Stopping at Jan Juc's Birdrock lookout, Bell's Beach, Point Addis and Airey's Inley, it was off to Lorne for lunch.
We also fit in a visit to The Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery... (try answering the phones there all day.)
A visit to the Memorial Arch for some photos and to learn a little about the Great Ocean Road project, we continued to Apollo Bay for the night.
After a pizza and a few locally distilled Gin and Tonics at the Apollo Bay Distillery, it was a brisk walk back to the Best Western and Barb's pretend open fire.
I look forward to showing the rest of out time in Victoria soon.
Be safe and we'll see you down the road.

Two nights at the Crown Towers was about all I could handle, I recon Barb could have stayed there the whole week but she had no idea exactly what I had planned.
The bags were packed, we jumped into the big black van and were transferred across the CBD to the Avis rental office where they bestowed upon us one of France's finest... (the sarcasm is real).
Officially day 3 of the trip but only day one of "THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY GREAT OCEAN ROAD JOURNEY".
We left Melbourne and headed towards Geelong. Trying to stay off the highway, we found a few out of the way places and finally onto Torquay for the night. I finally got my steamed dim sims and Barb got the beach.
The rest of the trip will be up soon
Be safe and we'll see you down the road.
