In partnership with Austrade, CMA has successfully delivered its first Australian complementary medicines delegation to Vietnam this week, bringing together nine Australian companies in Ho Chi Minh City.

Delegates gained direct access to Vietnamese regulators, retailers, distributors, buyers and industry experts—including a dedicated session with the Vietnam Food Administration—and participated in productive B2B matchmaking with potential local partners.

The program reinforced the strong reputation of Australian complementary medicines in Vietnam and opened valuable conversations about regulation, market entry and new opportunities in Australia’s second-largest complementary medicines export market.

Thank you to Austrade, the Australian Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City, Pharmedi Vietnam, the Vietnam Food Administration and our speakers and local partners—as well as participating companies AWS360, Blackmores, Gnosis, Life-Space, Lipa Pharmaceuticals, Longevity Life Sciences, PharmaCare Laboratories, Swisse Wellness and Witsbb.

The delegation was delivered with support through the Accessing New Markets Initiative (ANMI) and forms part of CMA’s ongoing work to support the international growth and diversification of Australia’s complementary medicines industry.

ANMI is a $55 million program helping Australian businesses diversify and grow their exports, designed and jointly delivered by Austrade and industry.

And this delegation is only the beginning. We look forward to building on the relationships established and continuing to support the international growth of Australia’s complementary medicines industry.

A few highlights from the inaugural CMA Biotics Day!

We were delighted to welcome members, healthcare practitioners and industry colleagues to Melbourne for the first-ever CMA Biotics Day. It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout and so much engagement throughout the day.

The program explored the rapidly evolving world of prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics, with insightful presentations covering the latest developments in microbiome science, regulation, research and product innovation.

Thank you to everyone who attended, presented and supported the event.

Based on the enthusiasm and discussion throughout the day, we’re confident our new seminars will become an important addition to our industry’s events calendar.

Healthplex 2026 is a wrap!

It was another successful year for the Australian Pavilion, with CMA proudly supporting members to showcase Australia's complementary medicines industry to buyers and partners from across China and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

Beyond the exhibition, CMA joined Austrade on a trade delegation to Chengdu, exploring new opportunities in West China and reinforcing the importance of export market diversification for Australian businesses.

We're already looking ahead to Healthplex 2027, with expressions of interest now open for CMA members interested in joining next year's Australian Pavilion.
