Big news for Par Avion and for Tasmania ✈️

A $13 million investment from Microflite Group is bringing brand new aircraft to the Southwest: two Tecnam P2012 STOLs and a Cessna 206HD.

The first Tecnam will be flying from Hobart to Melaleuca by the end of January 2027, with the second Tecnam and the Cessna to follow in mid 2027.

After more than 40 years of flying visitors into the Southwest, this is a very special moment for our team. Our scenic flights, wilderness tours and wilderness camp all continue, and we cannot wait to welcome you on board.

While we often focus on Tasmania's Southwest, another exceptional experience is our W**eglass and Wildlife Tour.
Begin with a spectacular flight over Freycinet National Park, where you'll take in breathtaking views of pink granite peaks, secluded bays, crystal-clear waters, and pristine white-sand beaches. The highlight is the world-famous W**eglass Bay, whose crescent-shaped shoreline is even more impressive from the air.
The journey continues over Île des Phoques, home to a thriving seal colony, before arriving at Maria Island National Park.
Maria Island is one of Tasmania's premier wildlife destinations, offering the chance to see wombats, kangaroos, Cape Barren geese, and rare bird species such as the swift parrot in their natural habitat.
Enjoy approximately 90 minutes on the island, including a gourmet lunch showcasing local Tasmanian produce and w**e. After your island experience, relax on the scenic flight back to Hobart, taking in more of Tasmania's stunning east coast from above.

Last week, I left the office behind and flew down to the Southwest for what turned out to be a truly spectacular day.

The highlight? An unexpected visit from a pod of dolphins that made an already incredible day even better.
