We’ve had a wave of new faces here lately… so here’s a little introduction. 👋👋
Aroona is one of the longest-standing private charter vessels on the Great Barrier Reef, with over 25 years of local knowledge behind every trip. Our captain, Ross Miller, has spent decades exploring these waters, so you’re visiting the reef with all that experience to enjoy.
Our charters include a private chef, experienced crew, and a beautifully appointed vessel with stabilisers for a more comfortable ride. And for those who prefer less time on the ocean, we can also fly you into select locations, giving you more time on the far northern reefs and less time getting there.
Aroona is your ultimate mothership, with smaller tenders allowing you to venture further… into secluded beaches, hidden reef pockets and remote fishing spots beyond the reach of larger vessels
We specialise in private charters tailored to you. We can sleep up to 8 people, which would include converting our master suite into 4 bunks. Ideally, 6 or 7. Day trips we can take up to 11.
There’s something special here all year round:
• June–July: Dwarf minke whale season
• Winter: ideal conditions for kitesurfing
• Year-round: INCREDIBLE fishing, diving and snorkelling (with respect to closures and conditions)
We work closely with research teams and are often chartered for documentaries.
Each journey is designed to feel personal, never one-size-fits-all.
