Unfortunately for this customer after 18 months in long term storage the Starboard engine presented with issues while doing prestart checks before returning to water to go cruising. Number 6 cylinder has had water ingression and has resulted in the engine being locked up. So we have pulled it out and are in the process of disassembly and off to the machinist for the required repairs.

Unfortunately for this customer the transmission oil cooler has failed and had water through the unit. But watch this space as we will update as we clean and prep and rebuild this transmission and get the vessel back out on the water and operating correctly for the owners.

This ZF transmission was brought in by the owner as the output shaft had excessive play and was causing vibrations and wearing out drive components. We stripped and assessed the internals and found excessive bearing wear to be the cause. So a new full set of bearings and seals with all the required shimming to OEM specs. Finishing off with a fresh coat of paint before supply back to the customer.
