Jabiru Aircraft

What a weekend in Atherton.

Peter Cawthorne ran another cracking Owner Maintainer course, and this one was extra special: we had the founder of Jabiru himself in attendance.

Things kicked off with a talk from Rod, walking us through the company's story and how it all began. From there the weekend just got better. We gathered for dinner on the first night to break the ice, followed by two days of maintenance theory and practical work.

A big thank you as well to the crew from Project Cameltrain for their special presentation. A real highlight.

Great people, great aircraft, and a whole lot of shared knowledge. Already looking forward to the next one.

The first edition of FlightFest has officially wrapped. Thank you to everyone who attended. You helped make the inaugural event something to build on. Congratulations to all the filmmakers who entered the festival and to Air Angels: Flight Helene for taking out 3 categories and becoming the first festival winner of FlightFest.

Last night we premiered The Will to Fly, the story of Jabiru and the people who built it.

A full house in Bundaberg, the factory behind us, and just over an hour of the Jabiru story on the big screen. To everyone who sat in cold with us, thank you.

Aviation doesn’t sell itself to the next generation from a brochure. It sells itself when someone can stand next to an aircraft, meet the people who built it, and see a way in.

That’s why we built FlightFest.

Next month, The Great Jabiru Muster will be happening in Lethbridge. Our very own Peter Cawthorne will be speaking during the Saturday afternoon session where he will be giving a mini maintenance presentation.

The 2026 Jabiru Approved Maintainers course was held in Bundaberg in July. It was a great turn out with many L2s and LAMEs attending. There was loads of classroom and hands on teaching, along with a tour of the factory.

Where is your nearest Jabiru maintainer?

Right now, an owner in Perth may have to bring their aircraft to Bundaberg for approved work.

That is the whole reason the JAM course exists. The goal is simple: provide every Jabiru owner in Australia access to a factory-approved maintainer within an hour or two.

This intake put candidates on the map in Western Australia, Victoria, western South Australia and Cooktown.

They join our growing list of Factory Approved Maintainers around the country.
