5 HRS FROM PERTH... DISASTER STRIKES AGAIN!

Just when I thought the trailer problems were behind me, disaster struck again.

Only five hours from Perth, near Dongara, the trailer wheel came completely off after the wheel bolts snapped.

Thankfully, with some help, I was back on the road about an hour later and able to continue the journey.

It's another reminder that when you're travelling around Australia, even the shortest day can turn into another unexpected adventure.

I'm really not sure what the next step is going to be now......

I honestly couldn't believe the timing of this one.

After everything that's already happened with the trailer, I pulled into a Caravan Park in Geraldton, on the way back to Perth. As I came to a stop in the driveway, one of the trailer tyres literally slipped off the rim.

If it had happened a few minutes earlier while I was still riding, the outcome could have been very different.

This journey has tested me more than I ever expected, but I'm determined to keep moving forward and get Two Wheel Reset back on track.

When I get back to Perth tomorrow. I'll finally be able to start looking at the under carriage of the trailer and get it sorted properly.

Heading Back to Perth... Time for a Reset |

After everything that's happened on this trip, it's time to turn the bike back toward Perth.

This isn’t how I imagined wrapping things up, but sometimes the road has other plans. The trailer issues mean it’s time to pause, fix what needs fixing, and come back better prepared.

The journey isn’t ending—it’s just taking a detour.

After weeks of delays, misinformation, and frustration, the trailer is finally back on the road.

In this video I make the final adjustment by lowering the tow hitch to suit the new wheels and tyres before taking the trailer out for its first real test.

I'll show you how it tows, how it handles, and whether the changes have solved the problems that brought this journey to a halt in Broome.

Thankfully, the test was a success. It's a huge relief to finally be moving forward again and getting Two Wheel Reset back on track.

The Trailer Is Finally Fixed! | New Wheels Fitted

After weeks of delays, mis information, and frustration. It's finally happened.

The new rims and tyres have finally arrived in Broome, they're fitted, and the trailer is back on the road.

This video shows the new tyres being fitted, how everything came together, and I also want to take a moment to thank Steve from Tourlite Trailers in Perth, and Sue Spriggs. I genuinely appreciate the time and effort that went into getting these wheels to Broome.

It's a huge relief to finally put this behind me and to be able to now sit down and make definite plans.

Thank you to everyone who has followed this saga, offered advice, and supported me along the way. Your encouragement has meant a lot.

I'm currently facing a major decision regarding the trailer.

The original tyre size on the trailer is no longer being made, which has left me with three possible options:

Put the trailer on a truck and head back to Perth myself.
Put the trailer on a truck and continue around Australia without it, scaling the whole trip right down.
Have a set of smaller rims and tyres sent up from Perth and modify the trailer to keep the journey going as planned.

Every option has both pros and cons, of which will cost money either way.

At the moment I'm leaning towards getting the rims and tyres sent up, but it's not a simple decision. Every option comes with its own costs, compromises and risks.

I'd genuinely like to hear your thoughts. If you were in my position, what would you do?

After weeks of chasing trailer tyres in Broome, they finally arrived yesterday.

Unfortunately, they're the wrong style.

At this point, what should have been a straightforward repair has turned into a much bigger headache than I ever expected. Every time it feels like there's a solution, another problem seems to appear.

In this video, I explain what arrived, why it's not what I was expecting, and where things currently stand.

To be honest, this latest setback has left me questioning what the next step should be. Right now, I'm taking things one day at a time and working out the best way forward.

What started as just another day on the road quickly turned into one of the biggest setbacks of the entire journey.

While travelling through Sandfire Roadhouse, I discovered that the trailer had suffered a major bearing failure. One wheel hub was destroyed and the other wasn't far behind. Suddenly, a trip that has taken months of planning was at risk of coming to an abrupt end.

For a while, I genuinely didn't know if I'd be able to continue.

Thankfully, help was available and the repair process began, but this was one of those moments that reminds you how quickly things can change when you're travelling through remote Australia.

This is the reality of life on the road. Not every day is an adventure. Sometimes it's breakdowns, uncertainty, and figuring out how to keep moving forward.

After leaving Port Hedland, I headed north towards Sandfire Roadhouse on another remote stretch of Western Australia.

This ride marked a personal milestone for me. As I passed the Marble Bar Road (The Hottest Place In Australia) turnoff just outside Port Hedland, it became a significant marker in the journey. From that point on, I was riding further north than I had ever ridden a motorbike in Australia before. Everything beyond that point was unknown territory for me, making it both exciting and a little daunting at the same time.

At the time, it felt like just another day on the road.
What I didn't know was that this ride would become a turning point in the journey.

About three-quarters of the way through the ride, I started noticing signs that something wasn't right with the trailer. At the time, I wasn't sure what the problem was or how serious it might be. Looking back now, this was the point where the tyre and bearing issues that would eventually bring the trip to a halt at Sandfire were first starting to show themselves.

This video captures the ride exactly as it happened — the scenery, the changing landscapes, the conversations inside the helmet, and the moments before I knew what was coming.

Catching My Breath In Broome

After all the stress of the trailer tyre issues, today was a much slower pace.

I spent some time looking around Broome and quickly realised that a lot of the places I want to visit aren't really accessible on the bike. So I've started looking into hiring a car to explore a bit more of the area.

Apart from that, most of the day was spent catching up on editing, relaxing, and finally taking a breather after the last couple of weeks.
Sometimes the road trip is all about the big adventures... and sometimes it's just about slowing down and resetting.
