Flew down to Barcelona today from Gatwick with a quick night in Sitges. A British airways aircraft was flying down over France to our left and just above, quite a site to see in the air.

A day out on the North Yorkshire moors and through to Whitby for Fish and chips ( well sausage and chips for me !! ) Went to Goathland home of Heartbeat and Hogsmean station from Harry Potter and Whitby where the endeavour was built to travel to Australia and New Zealand with Captain Cook

Drove to York today to drop ‘someone’ off then drove to Leeds to drop of a hire car then got on the train back to York! Went to the Castle Museum and I was amazed we approached the desk together to pay individually and was told to stand back as due by to privacy they could only serve us both separately I have never heard of anything so stupid !

A day in the Yorkshire days and Grassington home of all creatures great and small ! Had dinner at the The Devonshire ( the drovers arms ) right next to the fictional Sceldale house which is actually a private house and the pillars as seen in the show are made of fibreglass and only put there for filming !

A quick night in Caernarfon in North Wales !! Supposed to be in England but my occasional travelling friend !! Is tonight watching Rugby in Old Trafford Manchester so I thought oh well I’ll go here !! Picked up a hire car for our tomorrow trip to the Yorkshire Dales just have to drive to Manchester in the morning to get her !!! So went by train to get the hire car at Chester ( nearest place I could get one ) went past Birkenhead I used to live in Birkenhead !! ( the Auckland version ) so on the North Wales expressway and now here for the night. Just had traditional Welsh food pizza !!!

A day in Liverpoooool !!! Met a friend and toured the city, the Beatles they play on it as nothing else ever happed here ! Went on the ferry across the Mersey although now it actually does a 55min cruise at £14 a pop during the day as there is a road tunnel and now the metro to get you in a minute to the other side !! Went to the Anglican cathedral which is the biggest in Britain and then had dinner near the cavern club

Bit of a journey today from Belfast to Liverpool 8 hours on a ferry did have the club lounge so that softened the blow now in Liverpool walked out the train station and there was a Wetherspoons on the other side of the street !!

Now on the way to Ireland from Cherbourg going round the end of Cornwall so it’s possible the Cornish mafia will get me better not spend too much time on deck. Came by bus up from Barnville with a woman driver who drove it like she’d stolen it !! On the way to the ferry terminal got stuck on a fence and had to be rescued !!’

A day out in France today first to lunch of
Mussels and cheese !! Afterwards I walked 6kms to Pegasus Bridge this was where the allied gliders landed on the early morning of D Day to capture it from the Germans to prevent easy access to the landing beaches about 6 kms away lots of memorials there and worth a visit.
