Young Guns Container Crew

Young Guns Container Crew Young Guns is an Indigenous-owned workforce partner for the logistics and supply chain industry, operating across Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

We unlock the potential of frontline teams by balancing performance and wellbeing. Young Guns Container Crew was founded in 2004 by brothers Scott and Trent Young. At the time, they were chasing a dream of playing rugby league whilst juggling engineering studies at university and a casual job of unpacking shipping containers. The most unlikely opportunity arose when the brothers were asked to do a

job that required them to employ a couple of extra guys from the football club and it was here that Young Guns was born. Day-in and day-out, the brothers worked alongside their employees in warehouses. They worked hard, learning the business of people and the industry. Young Guns opened an office in Brisbane (Support Office), expanded into Melbourne, Sydney and then Perth. In 2020, Young Guns launched into South Australia and the Northern Territory. Now in its 18th year of business, Young Guns Container Crew operates in 4 countries and employees approximately 900 team members. Young Guns has transformed a typically unskilled, unreliable and highly transient work force into a highly engaged team of professionals delivering a service that not only packs and unpacks shipping containers but also drives innovation and improvements into the Supply Chain. The Young Guns power is in its people. The international business provides an accountable team of professionals to manage the container inbound/outbound area for customers and consistently challenge ‘best practice’. Young Guns Container Crew is a proud Indigenous business. It is committed to providing opportunities for its people and its customers.

On National Sorry Day, we pause to remember and acknowledge the Stolen Generations, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were forcibly removed from their families, communities and culture.

We honour the strength of the Survivors and recognise the significance of the ongoing journey they face in healing and truth-telling.

Today, and every day, we must take time to listen, reflect and continue on our journey of learning, as individuals and together as Australians.

We stand alongside our First Nations communities in acknowledging the truth of our history and the role we all play in building understanding, relationships and respect.

QLD Captain Joey joined Trent and Jace for a chat at our May Townhall today.

Joey's just back from a recent 10 week stint in Montreal where he helped lead a new site launch. We loved hearing about his experiences and growth as a leader.

A few snaps from our recent Captains' training in New Zealand.

Captains are our site leaders, the ones on the ground setting the tone for their teams every day. We loved hearing this reflection from Andrea, our NZ trainer after the session.

"As each day progresses, I see confidence building up in the team members and ah-ha moments across the whole course. At the end I can see a real shift in mindset."

The whole team feels it when their leaders grow - amazing work from our trainers and the Captains! 🚀

Our latest Pathways cohort kicked off practical training this week at our Kmart site in Brisbane.

The first two weeks have been spent in the classroom with sessions covering self‑belief, wellbeing, financial management, workplace expectations and personal goal setting. The group will now work alongside Young Guns teams to get some hands-on experience.

Are you (or someone you know) Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and interested in joining the next Pathways? Register your interest here 👉 https://bit.ly/4tjZYn7

Celebrating our amazing team around the grounds 👏

Last month, we had a record-breaking number of nominations for our Reward and Recognition program. That's nearly 300 moments that a team member took the time to say someone made an impact!

Love seeing our values of High Care, High Trust and High Achievement in action.

Shout out to Darryl from our QLD team.

A full week of leadership training didn’t stop him from showing up when his crew was under the pump. After wrapping up in the classroom, he’s been heading straight to site to help the team out. What a legend! ✨
