With our girl Jess Johnston, who keeps Utility running on all cylinders, currently fighting in the intensive care unit with anaphylaxis, and Nik away doing Off-Base Check & Training, we are grateful to have had our incredible team step up in their absence!
Paul is our full time Grade 1 Senior Flight Instructor and second Flight Testing Examiner, who, just like Shane (who is loved by all) has quickly become part of our family here ❤️

We couldn’t do it without such an incredible team and students!

CONGRATULATIONS MICHAEL TUDOR ON YOUR FIRST SOLO! 🎉
Whilst we are insanely proud of all of our students going solo and hitting these incredible milestones, today was extra special to see our PPL-H student, Michael achieve this huge moment which he has worked so hard for!

Braith absolutely smashed his PPL-H flight test today with Nik, and despite the weather turning a little gloomy, I bet Braith is feeling anything but gloomy after officially becoming a Heli Pilot 😍👌🏽

Braith, we will miss you around the hangar - but I’m not sure anyone could miss you more than Walt (our LAME) will miss you and all your help during maintenance periods haha!

Congratulations to Lachlan for passing his PPL-H! Flight Test🎉🚁

Lachlan was quite literally the first person into the hangar and the last to leave each evening as he finished off his final CPL-H theory subjects whilst also flying full time!

Lachlan, your work ethic and dedication could have never been questioned whilst you trained with us. It was a pleasure having you around.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to our forever smiling CPL-H student, Ryan!

Ryan is currently studying through the tail end of our 2025/2026 CPL-H theory intake. With the performance & operations exam today and only Navigation and Law to go, we are sure there will be some birthday luck sprinkled all over his remaining three exams - not that he needs any luck after smashing out the previous 4 subjects 🎉

We hope you had an incredible birthday, Ryan!

Last Friday we all celebrated the first flight test for 2026 which was aced by Peter!!

Peter joined us for our final PPL-H theory course for 2025, and of course, he smashed in with a pass of 88% 🎉📚

Then the best part started; FLIGHT TRAINING and becoming a Private Helicopter Pilot 😍🎉🚁

Congratulations, Peter!! We look forward to watching your journey and will see you soon!

Riaan, it’s been an absolute pleasure having you with us at Utility, you were brilliant both on ground and in the cockpit. In Nik’s words “one of the fastest PPL-H’s to progress”

What’s the saying? If you can’t hover, don’t bother 😜
Shoutout to our 2 fixed wingers, Seppo and Riaan for absolutely SMASHING their PPL-H theory exam a couple weeks ago! Both achieved a score in the mid 90’s!! 👌🏽🎉

Both Seppo and Riaan have been completing their flight training with us and with Riaan’s flight test today, followed by Seppo’s on Tuesday, it’s safe to say these two have now realised that only supermodels need runways haha!

A huge congratulations to Josh for earning his first SOLO can yesterday!!

Josh was part of our PPL-H theory intake earlier in the year and is currently completing his PPL-H flight training in between his FIFO roster! Hard work makes the dream work 😍
