✈️ We’re starting to see backlogs build across Asia.

Disruption in the Middle East is pushing freight into alternative routings, and congestion is now emerging in hubs like Singapore.

This is where the impact starts to flow through — tighter capacity, missed connections and longer transit times across the network.

It’s no longer just a Middle East issue.

We’ve put together a short update on what this means for Australia and New Zealand supply chains:

Escalation in the Middle East is driving significant disruption to air and ocean services transiting key Gulf corridors.

Airspace closures and maritime security measures are affecting major cargo hubs and strategic waterways such as the Strait of Hormuz, including routes relied upon by Australian and New Zealand supply chains.

Our latest Service Update outlines the current position and the broader network implications:

We continue to monitor developments closely and will engage directly where shipments may be impacted.

Escalating regional tensions between Iran, Israel and the United States have resulted in temporary airspace closures and maritime security measures across parts of the Middle East, impacting selected air and ocean freight services transiting the region.

🚨 Update: Cyclone Alfred Impacting Port of Brisbane 🚨
Tropical Cyclone Alfred is causing significant disruptions to shipping operations at the Port of Brisbane, with all inbound vessel movements currently suspended due to heavy swell and unsafe conditions. Outbound vessels under pilotage may still disembark during daylight hours, but further restrictions are expected as conditions deteriorate.
At Seabridge, we are actively monitoring the situation in coordination with port authorities, shipping lines, and industry stakeholders to assess the impact and minimise disruptions to supply chains.
We will continue to provide timely updates as new information becomes available. For full details, read our latest update here: https://seabridge.com.au/newsroom/cyclone-alfred
If you have any concerns regarding your shipments, please reach out to your Seabridge representative.

Seabridge is closely monitoring the impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred on shipping operations at the Port of Brisbane. Due to severe weather conditions, port activities have been significantly affected, leading to disruptions in vessel movements.
