Ayva grew up at Dingo Beach with a love of the ocean and science and now she's turning that passion into a career. 🌊
Ayva is the first recipient of the NQXT x JCU: James Cook University, Australia's Whitsunday Futures Education Grant and will be undertaking some hands-on work experience with our team doing water monitoring and other environmental programs. 🐠🔬
Pretty cool when what we do every day becomes someone's career inspiration.
Applications for the next round of the grant are open and close 29 May 2026. If you know a local student from Bowen, Airlie Beach, Proserpine or Collinsville studying Environmental Science, Marine Science, Geology or a related field, send them this way.
