Update on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BVRT) Sandy Creek crossing upgrade project at Wanora. As you are aware, the existing culvert at Sandy Creek will be replaced with a new modular bridge to improve waterway connectivity and fish passage.
Following further discussions with RoadTek, the bridge installation is now expected to occur later than originally anticipated. As a result, the section of the BVRT between Borallon Station Road and Warren Road, Wanora, is expected to be temporarily closed for one day during the week of 31 August to 4 September 2026.
At this stage, the exact closure date has not been confirmed as it remains dependent on weather conditions and construction progress. We will provide a further update as soon as the closure date is known.
We wanted to provide advance notice of this anticipated closure so businesses and other stakeholders can keep their customers and trail users informed and make any necessary arrangements ahead of time.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation while these important works are completed. If you have any questions, please contact the BVRT Project Team at [email protected]
