The big bus is back on the road!
Nigel broke down in Runnymede over a week ago on a freezing cold night after a massive day on the road.

We’ve been doing our best to fit in all of your bookings this past week between our smaller vans and a rental kindly supplied by our friends at Bargain Car Rentals.

I do appreciate our awesome team for adapting to an added degree of difficulty and rolling on!
Would also like to thank anyone who has heard me whinge this week. You’re a patient bunch up there on the Coast 😆

We work long hours at Silky Transport. Crikey it’s cold getting up in the mornings but it’s all worth it to see the sky like this on our way home.

Welcome to the team Nigel!
Nigel has been a family friend since I was in primary school. He has a shack in Bicheno so already has a strong connection with the Coast.

A CHANGING OF THE GUARD

Today is bittersweet, as it is the last day that I will be your Mr Silky! After 6 amazing years leading our team and looking after all the legends on the East Coast the time has come for me to hang up the hi-vis, the occy straps and the trolley, and call it a day!

It’s hard to think back to when I took over from the original Mr Silky (shout out to Danny) all those deliveries ago - to be honest I was sh****ng myself! I have learnt so much along the way, but more importantly I am incredibly proud of the relationships we’ve built and am incredibly lucky to have a whole new group of people that I can call friends.

Never fear though, your deliveries will be in great hands. Most of you will already know the new Mr Silky, as it’s our main man Nick! Nick’s been looking after you for almost 4 years already, and the time is perfect for him to take the reins. Not only is he the right man for the job, he is one of my great great mates and I’m so happy to be able to handover to him.

Operationally nothing will change. The entire team will remain the same - with just a little less Barney! All contact details will remain the same, and there will be no disruption to our services.

I can’t thank you enough for your support, encouragement and friendship over the years. Being Mr Silky has been the best professional experience of my life and I’ll cherish it forever!

Massive Fridays on the road have their perks! Breakfast by the blowhole supplied by the crew at Governörs Bicheno. Cracking coffee and that is a serious bacon and egg roll!
