Ruel Rigging

Ruel Rigging Ruel Rigging, established in 1994, operates from Bakers Bayview Marina on Sydney's glorious Pittwater.

Ruel Rigging offer a variety of traditional and modern rigging services, from standing and running rigging on yachts to rope work and splicing. Ruel Rigging has been a trusted name in yacht rigging for over three decades. Founded in 1995 on Scotland Island in Sydney’s stunning Northern Beaches, the business began with a single workshop and a bold first project: the complete re-rigging of the 1902

tall ship Solway Lass—hand spliced and executed entirely in situ at Darling Harbour. As demand quickly grew, the team relocated to Bayview Marina in 1997, where operations continue today. In 2006, Ruel Rigging began commissioning new Hanse yachts and has since completed the commissioning of over 300 rigs in new yachts. Now operated by a skilled team of experienced riggers and sailors, Ruel Rigging carries forward a legacy of excellence and attention to detail that has earned the trust of both the racing and cruising communities across Australia. From cruisers preparing to head north, to weekend sailors wanting a safe, well-maintained vessel for club racing or family outings, we support boat owners at every level with the same dedication to quality and service. Whether you're racing offshore or preparing for coastal cruising, Ruel Rigging remains committed to delivering superior craftsmanship and personalised care

A worthwhile upgrade for this Hanse before heading off cruising.

We fitted a new Profurl C350. With no annual servicing required and a 10-year parts warranty, it’s a great fit for a cruising boat — less ongoing maintenance and one less thing to worry about when you’re away from home.

A nice upgrade and some extra peace of mind knowing the headsail furling system is ready for the miles ahead.

Bavaria owners have you had your tie rods inspected ?

During a recent re-rig on a Bavaria 44, we removed the chainplate tie rod assemblies and found cracking and crevice corrosion throughout the system.

The damage was largely hidden from view and only became apparent once the assemblies were removed for inspection.

For this vessel we replaced:

Deck chainplates
Tie rods
Lower hubs / ball joint cups
Complete standing rigging

If your Bavaria is 20+ years old and the tie rod assemblies have never been inspected, it may be worth booking them in for a check.

A big thank you to Matthew Small at state Engeneering for their assistance manufacturing the replacement components for this project.

With last week’s wet weather keeping us off the water, it gave the team a chance to get on top of our running rigging orders.

Over 600 metres of rope has been spliced, finished and prepared for fitting, full running rigging packages made up for Hanse 385, Bavaria 44, beneteau37.1

The extra time in the workshop also gave us an opportunity to work on something a little different.

For years we’ve been turning high-performance rope into halyards, sheets and control lines. Now we’re applying the same craftsmanship to a new project for our four-legged crew members.

🐾 Introducing Bayside Leashes – premium rope dog leashes, handmade in Pittwater using the same quality rope and splicing techniques trusted offshore.

We’re still putting the finishing touches on the range, but the first leashes aren’t far away.

Follow along and keep an eye out for the official launch coming soon.

Planning to use the boat more this year.

Before the first proper sail, it’s worth checking the part of the boat that takes the most load.

Rig checks and all your rigging requirements across Pittwater.

Then & Now looking sharper than ever!

Return customer.
We’ve re-rigged this beauty twice for her current owner, and now she’s sporting a new profurl c320 headsail furler.

It’s always satisfying fitting quality gear to a boat that’s been so well cared for, some yachts just don’t age.
Her in 2014 vs today… looking ready for another decade on the water.

It’s been a busy Friday at Ruel Rigging getting yachts ready for the weekend here in beautiful Pittwater, Sydney!

🔩 We’ve just installed a brand new custom-fabricated bow fitting/forestay chainplate by customengeneering on a Little Harbor 50 — a solid upgrade for this classic cruiser.

⚓ Wrapped up a full standing and running rigging replacement on a Hunter 27, including a fresh Profurl C290 furler supplied by the team at Wichard Pacific.

⛵ Also finished the standing and running rigging overhaul on a Hanse 445, plus serviced the Seldén single line reefing system to keep things smooth and reliable.

📍Another productive day keeping yachts in top shape. If your rig needs attention, we’re here to help.
