First time the rocker cover has been removed on this 1HD-FTE after 570,000km.

The intake valve clearances have closed up significantly, showing just how important regular valve clearance inspections are on these engines. At this mileage, this check should have been carried out multiple times throughout the vehicle’s life. Every 40k kms to be exact.

In this reel we’re taking a first look under the rocker cover, checking valve clearances, inspecting the valvetrain, and seeing how half a million kilometres of service has affected this legendary engine.
