Whitsunday Airport Shute Harbour Whitsunday Airport Shute Harbor is privately owned by Ross and Diane Armstrong. The Airport incorporates a 1,410 metre asphalt runway with dual taxiways.

Whitsunday Airport Shute Harbour is home to The Hangar Cafe & Bar, Helibiz, HeliTours/HeliReef, CQ Adventure Flights, Skydive Australia, Susan Chinn Accounting, Whitsunday Parking and Airlie Beach Swim School by Danielle. Recently more than $20 million was spent at the Airport to create and include “Whitsunday Aviation Village Estate”. This is Australia’s first fully –integrated residential develo

pment situated within the Airport. Presently the estate is completed with 40 residential lots along the eastern side of the runway with further development approvals in place to add another 17 lots along the Western side northern end of the runway. The Airport is also home to a number of key commercial Whitsunday General Aviation businesses and Aviation Tourism business. Right now opportunities exist to expand the Commercial business within the Airport. Enquires in General Aviation and Tourism Aviation businesses are welcome. The Whitsunday Airports close proximity to the Heart of the Great Barrier Reef, the Whitsunday 74 Islands including the Resort islands of Hayman Island, Hamilton island , Day Dream island , Hook island, Lindeman island and the Resort town of Airlie Beach make the Whitsunday Airport a must visit destination and base for aviation enthusiasts and professionals. With broken hearts, Whitsunday Airport (Shute Harbour) extend our deepest condolences and love to Gyan, and to both Nick and Gyan’s family, friends, and staff.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have known Nick for many years. Watching what he built and achieved in such a short time has been a true privilege, and we are immensely proud of everything he created.

Nick’s caring nature, positive energy, and the constant support he offered to everyone around him played a huge part in his success. Combined with his long hours and deep love for aviation, it was a remarkable balance that defined who he was.

Gyan, please know the entire Whitsunday Airport family is here for you - whatever you need, day or night.

Nick, you leave us with beautiful memories, endless laughs, countless jokes, and plenty of hugs - all of which will be deeply missed (even the hugs). To our beautiful friend, family member, colleague and passionate spotter, may you rest in peace. You truly were one in a million.

HELP LITTLE THEO FIGHT HIS BIG BATTLE! 💪

Meet Theo Large, a 4 year old Whitsunday local who's life changed on the 14th August 2024 when he was diagnosed with Childhood Leukaemia.
