Gebrüder Weiss Slovakia represented at high-level talks in Bratislava 🤝

As part of the visit of Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen to Slovakia, high-ranking representatives from politics and business gathered in Bratislava to discuss the future of economic cooperation and logistics in Central Europe. 🌍

Gebrüder Weiss was represented by Rene Stranz at the exclusive luncheon reception at the Presidential Palace, hosted by Slovak President Peter Pellegrini – as one of only two companies invited to attend.

Náš tým si to nedávno vyzkoušel v rámci inovativního školení první pomoci VR Rescue. Díky propojení virtuální reality a praktického tréninku jsme si mohli nanečisto projít realistické krizové situace, ve kterých rozhodují vteřiny.

Během školení jsme se zážitkovou formou seznámili se základy resuscitace i správnými postupy při poskytování první pomoci. Moderní technologie tak znovu ukázaly, že mají smysl i tam, kde jde o lidský život.

📢 Goran Susak Appointed Managing Director Land Transport & Logistics Germany at Gebrüder Weiss

We are pleased to welcome Goran Susak as the new Managing Director Land Transport & Logistics Germany at Gebrüder Weiss, effective July 1, 2026.

The experienced logistics executive brings more than 25 years of industry experience and most recently served in a leadership role at Kuehne+Nagel. In his new role, he will be responsible for the strategic and operational development of the company’s German land transport and logistics activities, with a particular focus on stabilizing and further developing the organization as well as expanding integrated logistics solutions.

Germany remains a key market in Europe for Gebrüder Weiss. With Goran Susak, Gebrüder Weiss gains an experienced executive with extensive market knowledge, operational expertise, and strategic perspective.

🚲 130 Bicycles for Better Educational Opportunities

Together with the Anezka’s Dreams for Madagascar Foundation, we delivered 130 donated bicycles to Madagascar, a project that demonstrates how we can apply our logistical expertise where it truly makes a difference. 🌍

For many local children, a bicycle means a significantly shorter and more reliable commute to school, and thus better chances of attending classes regularly. Teachers also gain greater mobility between villages. 🎒

Our Air & Sea team in Slovakia bundled the bicycles, packed them securely for transport, and organized the entire shipment by rail and sea freight all the way to Tamatave. As a result, everything arrived on time and in perfect condition. 🚢

A huge thank you to our colleagues in Slovakia who made this project possible! 🙌

Running together worldwide for a good cause 🏃

Yesterday, Gebrüder Weiss colleagues from around the world participated in the Wings for Life World Run 🏁

Whether they were running, walking, or participating in a wheelchair, they all came together to send a strong message of solidarity, movement, and hope. 💪 One hundred percent of all entry fees go directly to spinal cord research to find a cure for spinal cord injuries.

⚓ Customer Event on the Cap San Diego: An Evening Dedicated to Mobility

Last week, we welcomed around 50 customers and partners to a special customer event in the Port of Hamburg. On board the historic Cap San Diego, the focus was on personal interaction, inspiring conversations, and a shared passion for mobility. 🚢

Robert Stahlschmidt, Country Manager at Air & Sea Germany, opened the evening with fascinating insights into Hamburg’s significance as an international logistics hub and Gebrüder Weiss’s longstanding presence in the Hanseatic city. Frank Haas, Head of Corporate Brand Strategy & Communications, then took the guests on a journey through over 500 years of company history, demonstrating how deeply mobility is embedded in Gebrüder Weiss’s DNA.

One of the evening’s highlights was the panel talk between Vanessa Hafner, Team Leader Digital Communications, and extreme athlete Michael Walther. Sharing his experiences from crossing the Atlantic Ocean on a stand-up paddleboard, he offered inspiring perspectives on sustainability, responsibility, and perseverance. 🏄

A successful evening with many personal encounters - and a wonderful example of how “Personal Touch” is put into practice at Gebrüder Weiss.
