Knowing the true cost per flight hour is the foundation of efficient aviation management.

🔹 Variable Costs (Per Flight Hour)
These are direct operating costs that increase with every hour flown:

• Fuel & Oil
• Maintenance (engine, propeller overhauls, repairs)
• Replacement Parts (tires, batteries, brake pads)
• Landing & Navigation Fees
• Airport User Charges

🔹 Fixed Costs (Annual)
These costs exist whether the aircraft flies or stays on the ground:

• Insurance Premiums
• Hangar / Tie-down Fees
• Annual & 100-Hour Inspections
• Navigation Subscriptions (Garmin, ForeFlight, etc.)
• Financing & Interest Costs

🔹 Example Calculation

Fixed Costs ÷ Annual Flight Hours = Fixed Cost per Hour

Variable Costs per Hour
