The problem was never the planning or the ex*****on, the problem was the unknown, and when I say unknown .. we truly mean it.
For those that have been following this unpack, you would be amazed what we completed in a really short amount of time during a client move from Florida USA to Spain.
The vision was real, after nearly a year of careful planning, executing document translation, apostille and legalisation and then navigating import procedures on an inherited home and contents we actually had very little idea how much delicate, fine bone China was sent to the client.
The shipment arrived, due to local challenges we had a whole week to prepare the clients property for the shipments imminent delivery and unpack - but first - we had to pack up the existing home, remove furniture and install kitchen cabinets for additional storage, source, purchase and install a library for those incredible books and artifacts, provide the client with clothing storage - our client is a gentleman of style and good taste so we installed a walk in wardrobe to house the shoe and suit collection.
A clients childhood dream - a fish tank, weighing 600lbs when empty - was the least of our worries. We had to find one before attempting the installation.
Given the client was 4 hours from the local IKEA store - one way - and delivery from the local store was in weeks not days .. the best solution was to hire a van and go pick up the storage solution. Ready for installation.
The vision worked a treat, every single piece was carefully washed, dried and placed into display cabinets ready for immediate use.
We installed led spot lighting to remain in keeping with the rest of the house.
