We’re delighted to announce the successful launch of the 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲!

The cadets participated in an insightful and interactive week-long programme led by our experienced Masters and Chief Engineers, gaining valuable knowledge while fostering a mindset of continuous learning, discipline, and professional growth.

The programme also featured an insightful session with Mr. Sanjeev Mehra, Chairman of the IME(I) Mumbai Branch, a gender sensitsation session by Ms. Deepshikha Mehra, a Marine Wellness Coach, and concluded with a special address by our CEO Mr. Vikrant Gusain.

A dedicated session on mental well-being by Dr. Mansi Jain & Ms. Nirali Desai, prepared them for their first voyage, while a comprehensive Dockendale orientation course familiarised them with our systems, safety culture, and the standards we expect across our fleet.

Congratulations to our cadets — here’s to the beginning of a promising and fulfilling seafaring career!

Capt. Weerasingha has always embraced a challenge, and when he discovered the maritime industry, he was hooked! "When I go to one field, I want to be a leader," he shares - and he certainly has! Rising through the ranks, he became a Master.

One of his most unforgettable experiences? Rescuing a man from a capsizing boat right after leaving port. "I saved one person's life," he recalls, a moment that deeply resonates with him.

Now, Capt. Weerasingha is dedicated to guiding young Sri Lankan seafarers, urging them to avoid unhealthy habits and to cherish the positive aspects of life at sea.

At home, he treasures family time, enjoying his favorite meal - sambar and rice, a comforting end to his adventures on the ocean.

Dockendale’s Celestial Christmas 2025: Let’s Shine Together!

We recently hosted our Annual Christmas Party in Manila, Philippines, bringing together our crew, office staff and their families for an evening filled with celebration and festive cheer.

The evening was made even more special by the presence of Capt. Vikrant Gusain, CEO of the Dockendale Group, who reflected on the year’s key achievements and milestones while sharing a clear and inspiring outlook for the year ahead. We also heard from Capt. Glen Ventura, Head of FPD Operations – Manila, who outlined Manila-specific goals and priorities for the coming year.

The evening came alive with fun games, lively music, dance, and global greetings from our offices and vessels, along with a special recap of memorable moments. This was followed by award presentations honouring our exceptional crew and team members, and concluded with a special year-end toast by our CEO.

It was an evening that truly reflected our gratitude and the strong spirit of our team.

African Rail: Ready to Sail Again

Our log and bulk carrier MV African Rail, has successfully completed her second special drydocking at CUD Weihai Shipyard, China.

The vessel underwent comprehensive work including hull cleaning, coating upgrades, propulsion system checks and major machinery overhauls, ensuring she continues to operate at peak performance and efficiency.

A huge appreciation to our dedicated Master, Chief Engineer, onboard Crew, Deputy Fleet Manager, Superintendents and our shipyard partners for their exceptional effort and teamwork in delivering this drydocking project safely, timely and successfully, ensuring the vessel is now ready to return to the sea.
