Abu Dhabi International Airport: A Hub of Constant Motion
Abu Dhabi, UAE - Zayed International Airport (AUH), the primary international airport serving the capital of the United Arab Emirates, is a bustling hub of global air travel. The airport's state-of-the-art infrastructure enables it to handle a significant number of aircraft movements every hour.
The new Midfield Terminal Building, officially known as Terminal A, has substantially increased the airport's capacity. It is designed to handle up to 79 aircraft at any given time and has a capacity for 11,000 passengers per hour.
Recent operational data indicates that the airport manages an average of approximately 400 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings) per day. This translates to an average of about 16 to 17 aircraft movements per hour. During peak periods, this number can be significantly higher. In the first half of 2024, the airport recorded 84,286 flight movements, averaging over 460 movements daily.
With its two parallel runways and advanced air traffic control systems, Abu Dhabi International Airport is well-equipped to manage the continuous flow of passenger and cargo flights, connecting Abu Dhabi to destinations across the globe. The airport's ongoing expansion and development projects are set to further enhance its capacity and efficiency in the coming yearsą„¤
