The basis of sound labour relations with domestic workers is ethics and setting boundaries. Never hire maids without "POLICE CLEARANCE " it serves to be one of the most effective measures for due diligence. Screen their belongings as they enter and leave your premises for visitations. Undertake random checks on their belongings as they live with you.

Large organisations manage deviant employees successfully through tight security systems. Manage your domestic worker as a human resource. Use the airport model: there are no exceptions to screening regardless of status. Human beings should never be trusted. This speaks to the dynamics of human behavior and the need to screen humans for fear of unpredictable behaviour. Respect your employee: pay dues on time, be polite, kind and approachable however, never trust a stranger fully. Have a happy year ahead as you serve your new contracts....

Minimum starting salary K1, 300 full- time employees working Monday to Friday 07hrs to 17hrs, weekend half day 7hrs to 13hrs either Saturday or Sunday depending on the maid's day of worship.
