Meet Matthew. ๐Ÿ
This young gentleman was thrown into the deep end and learnt how to swim!
He has shown great perseverance, passion, GUTS and dedication towards his work. Matthew is a fast learner and has proven himself time and again.
He is never hesitant to go the extra mile and work long and difficult hours.
We at Boldly Africa may have given him the opportunity but he has seized the moment with utmost discipline since day one!
Much respect for you Matthew๐Ÿ

Why do some bees look different from each other even within the same hive ?

As the mother of the colony, the queen bee mates with many drones (males) from other colonies during her one and only mating flight early in life. She then stores the s***m inside of her for lifelong egg fertilization.

This results in a hive full of half-sister worker bees. Thatโ€™s why you will see a variety of colourings within the hive, some lighter, some darker. Bringing genetic diversity into the hive in this way benefits them as a whole by allowing the traits of many lineages to be expressed. The benefits include additional disease resistance, increased productivity, and clever hygienic behaviours.

Bees figured out a long time ago that thereโ€™s strength in diversity. ๐Ÿ

.dullstroom stocked Honey is sourced from reputable bee farmers concerned with the conservation of the bee population in their area and world wide. We only stock natural and organic, raw, unfiltered Honey. Crystallisation is a natural proses for honey and indicates that you've chosen a real, natural honey product. The natural sugars in honey (glucose and fructose) will bind together and begin to form little crystals, which can start making your honey harder. Soaking the bottle in warm water will soften the honey again, making it pourable.
