PUTCO ACHIEVES TWO YEARS OF ACCIDENT-FREE EASTER OPERATIONS
PUTCO has marked two consecutive years of accident-free Easter transport operations after successfully deploying more than 600 buses during the busy pilgrimage period.
The operation was largely incident-free, with only minor mechanical issues such as tyre punctures and low battery cases, all of which were quickly resolved without disrupting travel.
The company attributed the success to a comprehensive safety plan that included spare buses along key routes, roving mechanical teams, tow trucks, compulsory driver rest stops every 200 kilometres, and real-time monitoring from its Pretoria control centre. Drone technology was also used to monitor fleet movement and fuel management.
PUTCO thanked the Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety for their collaboration and confirmed that regular subsidised services continued without disruption during the Easter period.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to safe and reliable transport services.
