Quick drive out to Marievale Bird Sanctuary yesterday, just outside of Nigel. Lovely place for birdwatchers, however we didn't take any fancy camera gear, so just tried what we could with phone cameras.
Sightings of the day included:
A pair of Burchell's Coucal
Greater Flamingos
African Spoonbills
Swainson's Spurfowl.. to name just a few.

Marievale Bird Sanctuary has been operating for over half a century, and is primarily wetland, so you could be in for sightings of over 60 types of water birds. Well worth a visit, entrance is free.
