Days of Steam this summer! We're thrilled to welcome The Chiggen to the Redwood Route this summer! Weekends in August and September we'll be running this historic steam engine on our line for a one-of-a-kind journey through the redwoods.

Built in 1909 by H. K. Porter, the Santa Cruz Portland Cement Co. #2, now affectionately known as "The Chiggen," served as a billboard for a fried chicken restaurant for over 30 years before rebuilding began.

Fully restored and a steaming beauty, we'll be running the #2 on Saturdays and Sundays from August 13th through September 11th. We expect these trains to sell out, so do book early if you'd like to join us aboard a historic steam engine!
