Shout to Wilmer Smucker for holding it together on this challenging year and even after the accident for still getting this load deliver for the customer . Russellville AR to Brooklyn NY 374 CAT excavator. Thanks to Reuben Stoltzfus for running this truck down to Little Rock, Arkansas on short notice over the weekend to try and keep this job on schedule to be delivered before the end of the year for the customer .

I’m ready for this year to be in the books and on to a new year . This year was super challenging with this truck . I bought the truck with a new rebuilt motor. That within a few month we started having issues overheating not running but right . Twice we had a ring break off the cylinder sleeve on cylinder 1 then also cylinder 6 a few weeks later . I decided to do an out of frame full rebuild and start all over starting with the block . The block was in bad shape and needed a lot of machine work. The crank was cracked so replaced that. Not an easy crank to find the motor is a rare 5DS and built everything new from there up having to buy the parts individually since you can’t hardly find a kit. Decided while we are going to this extend we might as paint to match the motor. Not even 2 weeks out going for the 3 rd load I get a phone call at the 6am from the driver informing me that a another driver come thru the parking lot and ran right into him while he was parked . He just got done checking everything under the hood and hopped back in the truck only to see head lights coming right at him . The driver caught the booster and somehow missed the trailer and then caught the back of the truck . Thankful it is only frame and axle damage . I told the insurance it may be a 25 year old truck but totaling the truck is not an option . Sound like the will be down for a few more months 🤔 sure glad it wasn’t worst . And no one was hurt.
