We stayed at Bourou Noguchi Noboribetsu in Noboribetsu Onsen as part of a package with the Sapporo Snow Festival.
All suites have a hot spring bath with a scenic view and are over 50㎡ in size.

We stayed at Otaru Kourakuen in Otaru as part of a package with the Sapporo Snow Festival.
Located about 10 minutes by car from the Otaru Canal and other tourist attractions, this is a popular hot spring inn in Otaru.
It offers many rooms with open-air hot spring baths.

We went to the Sapporo Snow Festival in 2023.
The Sapporo Snow Festival is famous for its large scale and lively crowds, and it's well worth seeing at least once. Make sure to check it out!
Hotels were hard to find and expensive during the event, so we stayed in Sapporo the day before and then in Otaru, Noboribetsu, and various other hot spring inns around Sapporo.

It is now March, and the weather in Tokyo is becoming more and more springlike with increasing warmer days.

The most popular hiking spot in Tokyo - Mt. Takao

Despite being situated at a convenient location just 1-hour train ride from Shinjuku in central Tokyo, Mt. Takao is a great tourist destination that lets you enjoy nature to the fullest. It only takes 90 minutes to walk to the mountaintop, with several different routes from well-maintained, family-oriented hiking courses to trails deep in the mountain. Having been staying home for months, I realised the preciousness of getting physical activities in natural environments. We hope that people from around the world can enjoy visits to Japan again soon.

Being Japan's northernmost region with a subarctic climate, Hokkaido is still covered with thick white snow in late February. These pictures, taken in Hokkaido last weekend, showcase the majestic snowy scenery of nature.

The areas surrounding Minakami-Tanigawa Onsen in Gunma were covered with thick white snow last weekend, creating beautiful dreamlike scenery. Viewing snow while soaking in a hot spring, called "Yukimi-onsen" in Japanese, is a very enjoyable experience in Japan's winter.

Snow Monkey Onsen in Nagano

This is Jigokudani Monkey Park (地獄谷野猿公苑), which is famous as a rare spot where you can observe monkeys soaking in a hot spring at close range.
Some popular hot spring resorts (for humans) are located near the Park. Not only monkeys, but also you can enjoy onsen to the fullest!

The World Heritage Site of Shirakawa-go is very popular among tourists from home and abroad, especially in winter when it is covered with heavy snow. For onsen fans, we recommend Onyado Yui no Sho, an onsen ryokan located close to Shirakawa-go. A fantastic nighttime event called “Shirakawa-go Winter Light-up” will be held from January to February, and we have prepared special accommodation plans that allow you to stay at Onyado Yui no Sho on the dates of the event.
