We work with individuals and families in Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland to make moving a smooth experience. Wherley Moving was founded in York County in 1920 by J.D. It operated under the name J.D. Leonard Moving and Storage until 1978 when the name was changed to Leonard-Wherley Moving Systems to reflect the transition within the family to another generation of movers. Now the name is

Wherley Generations, Inc. to reflect the past, present and future generations of family members that operated our business. Currently the fourth generation is working to provide the best moving services possible.

Watch out for move brokers that give you a price too good to be true, take a deposit for your move over the phone, then sell your move to an out of town moving company. At which point, you could be charged whatever that other company wants to charge you for your move. Often 2 or 3 times more than the quote. Always use a local moving company that will do an in-home estimate! I cannot stress this enough. People are getting ripped off by phone estimate movers people find on the internet. Always ask if they are a move broker or if they will, in fact, be doing the move themselves. Be careful out there! It's moving season. Feel free to ask us any questions you may have!

Always use a moving company that offers in-home moving estimates to avoid your move being sold to another moving company or being overcharged at the time of delivery.
