•We are seeking a responsible and professional 7D School Van Driver to safely transport students to and from school and related activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety and excellent customer service skills. This role offers an opportunity to contribute positively to the community by ensuring reliable transportation for students while maintaining a high standard of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
•Safely operate the school van, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
•Transport students to and from school, field trips, and extracurricular activities in a timely manner
•Assist students with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety at all times
•Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness
•Maintain accurate logs of routes, mileage, and student attendance as required
•Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students to coordinate transportation needs
•Perform light maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly
•Attend all monthly safety meetings
Qualifications
•Valid class D driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years
•Strong communication skills to interact professionally with students, parents, and school personnel
•Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to ensure safety and reliability of transportation vehicles
•Ability to work in various weather conditions
•Excellent customer service skills with a focus on safety and professionalism
•A clean driving record and the ability to pass background checks are essential
• Split shift with a start time of usually 6 am to around 8:30-9 am then 1-1:30 pm to about 3:30-4 pm.
