Feels so good to be able to carve out some time to share some of these beautiful shoots we have with y’all.

Meet Philip and Yvette Helberg— the owners and operators of Helberg Barbecue, located in Woodway, Texas, 20 minutes from Central Waco. And if 20 minutes seems like too much of a drive, you’re wrong and you don’t deserve it. J/K...sort of. Real talk is their barbecue is worth whatever trip it might take you.

We had the privilege to capture some porchraits of the Wardlaw Family a few weeks back on what was quite possibly the hottest day of the Summer up to that point, maybe ever. 😉 We were greeted with curious eyes; friendly, warm smiles; and cold drinks upon our arrival.

The Hippodrome () has been a space we’ve admired since we moved here, so how fun when they had us out to take some pictures and meet the owner, Casey Turner. She was so much fun and up for whatever ideas we had! We even got to meet her daughters, Tori and Gia, for some fun shots and a popcorn tossing at the end. 🍿💫

Oh, hey, y’all. Just one of the ways we’ve been busy, busy these past few weeks!⠀

We have had so much going on and have so much to share coming up here soon, but we couldn’t do that without sharing one of our favorite little people and reasons for being busy!⠀

This is Riley. She’s six and one of our sweet, beautiful nieces. She loves swimming, horseback riding, quesadillas, and cookies. She’s an all-star cuddler and an all-around rad human. 🌟 ⠀
⠀
While we’re at it, have we mentioned that we *love* engaging and photographing kids and families? We do, we do! Let us know if you have a special little one (or two, or three, or more!) that you would like us to meet and capture— we’d be so happy and honored.⠀

And incase you were wondering, your family’s safety is our utmost priority— we are happy to mask-up and social distance!⠀

We’ve been enjoying Dichotomy’s coffee and spirits since we moved to Waco over four years ago. So, what a treat to not only get to capture them artfully slinging coffee and cocktails, but to also get to enjoy a coffee and a cocktail, too. 😋⠀

We had so much fun capturing Shamica (aka Waffle Chic) in her waffle truck (we’re convinced it’s the cutest food truck around). Also pretty convinced that it’s not possible to meet Shamica, enjoy her waffles, and not leave with a smile.

Shamica is not only gifted in her craft, making delicious, unique food from family recipes she’s added her own flair to— her waffles are pure magic and made with love— we saw it happen!!, she also has a gift of connecting with people. In the brief time we were with her, she received countless hellos, encouragements, and even high fives from the community.

One of the ways Waffle Chic has inspired us and made lemonade during the pandemic and shelter-in-place orders has been to provide “Waffle Chic at Home” kits that include their own special waffle batter and chicken breading for folks who need to stay put but still want their Waffle Chic fix.
