I was taking pictures of our
Nail dashes and my cute mom wanted me to make her hands look “not so old.”
As soon as she said that I started mentally going through all the things that those hands have done. I don’t want to filter out the wrinkles, or any age spots or any “imperfections” she sees. I don’t see them as old hands. I see them as the hands that have held her 5 children as newborns, those hands have wiped away hundreds of thousands of tears! Those amazing hands have made hundreds of meals for her family and for countless neighbors & friends. She has used those hands to teach us how to play the piano, how to braid our hair, how to sew & iron. She has used those hands to wrap her arms around us and comfort us when we have had heartache and then again, when we have had immense joy! She used those hands to take care of my sweet Dad for the last 45 years. Her hands have taken care of her 17 grandchildren. She has read books to us using her hands and scratched our backs for hours and hours!
So to answer your question, No Mom, I’m not going to make your hands look “not so old.” Because I love those hands and everything they have done for me. They are not old, they are perfect! ♥️
