Dreaming of an Alaskan cruise? 🏔️🛳️
August and September are two of the best times to visit Alaska. If you’re thinking about going, now is the time to start planning. The most popular itineraries (and those coveted balcony staterooms!) can sell out a year or more in advance.
And here’s my biggest Alaska tip: Don’t JUST take a cruise.
The first time we traveled to Alaska, we flew into Fairbanks first and spent an amazing week exploring on land before boarding a weeklong cruise through the Gulf of Alaska and Inside Passage. The cruise was incredible, but having those experiences to get up close with sled dogs, talk a hike with your own reindeer, 4-wheel through Denali National Park, take scenic train rides, see moose (mooses? meese?), and more in Fairbanks and Denali took the trip to another level! 🦮🦌🫎
The fun part is figuring out what YOUR version of an Alaska vacation should look like... cruise only or cruise+land, which itinerary, which excursions, which cruise line, and how much time you actually need.
