For high-value freight, a standard trailer hasp and whatever padlock happens to be available are not enough. The hasp, lock body, shackle, key system and driver protocol all need to work together.

The Landing Gear Lock doesn’t get talked about enough.

Once it’s installed, the landing gear can’t be cranked up. So if someone tries to move a dropped trailer without authorization, they’re trying to pull it with the landing gear still down.

A standard hardware-store padlock may use a shackle around 6mm thick.
