This morning, Wendy Brewer, Executive Director of The Historic Peoples Bank Theatre in Marietta, spoke to The Wood County Rotary Club at the Vienna Community Building in Jackson Park. Wendy shared her experiences and work history that led her to her current position and the history of the theatre since it opened in 1919 when Marietta was a hub for entertainment in this region. The Hippodrome was its original name. The theatre has been completely transformed, seats 944 currently and provides a variety of entertainment experiences throughout the year. Through grants, fund raising events and partnerships with local businesses, the theatre is able to bring many different opportunities to the area that appeal to all ages. The theatre is currently celebrating 10 years since its grand reopening and has a large schedule of events throughout the year. Memberships are available and allows for advance ticket sales, ticket exchange privileges and exclusive events invitations.
