There's a beach in Venice that most people will never find. 🌴

Hammocks swaying. Palm trees lining the shore. That warm, wild Gulf water doing what it does.

I posted this once before — with a little too much detail about how to get there. Let's just say the right people noticed, and I was kindly reminded that some places deserve to stay quiet.

So why am I sharing it now?

Because getting there takes effort. You need a boat. A paddleboard. A little adventure in your heart. And honestly? That's the filter. The people who are willing to work for it are the same people who will love it, respect it, and leave it exactly as they found it.

This place doesn't need foot traffic. It needs the right people.

The directions stay with me. But if you're genuinely curious — send me a message. If you're willing to make the effort to ask, you're probably already the kind of person who deserves to know. 🤫

Most Floridians have never heard of this place — and it almost became a national park.

In 1929, the government came to inspect a piece of land in Sebring, Florida and considered designating it as a national park.

They said no — not because it wasn't special enough, but because it was too small. So Florida kept it instead.
What they preserved is extraordinary. The live oaks standing here survived because Europeans couldn't reach them when they were cutting Florida's forests for shipbuilding. Some of them are nearly a thousand years old.

Today you can walk boardwalks over ancient cypress swamps, spot Florida panthers, black bears andalligators, and stand next to an oak so wide it takes six people to wrap their arms around it.

This is Highlands Hammock State Park in Sebring — Florida's very first state park. And it only costs $6 to get in.

📍 Sebring, FL — about 2 hours from Tampa, Orlando and Fort Myers
🎟️ $6 per vehicle up to 8 people
🚃 Tram tour available
🌿 9 trails — most under a mile
⚠️ Cypress Swamp catwalk currently closed for repairs

If you’re looking for something different to do with your kids or grandkids, this was such a fun experience.

We tried the Stranger Things virtual reality experience at Sandbox VR, and it was way more immersive than we expected. You don’t just sit and watch — you move, react, and work together as a group, which made it really fun for older kids, teens, and families.

With winter break and the holidays here, this is a great indoor activity and even a fun gift idea. We went as a group, and it truly felt like a shared experience.

📍 Florida locations include St. Pete, Fort Myers, and Orlando.

Sharing in case it helps someone looking for ideas this week ❤️

Sarasota friends… Misfit Bar at Sarasota Modern just became my new favorite holiday stop. 🎄✨
Wink Wink Bar transformed their entire space into a cozy Christmas-themed setup, and it’s honestly beautiful in person — twinkly lights, Christmas trees everywhere, and such a warm holiday vibe.

We tried a little bit of everything from the menu and nothing disappointed:
• Peppermint Espresso Martini (so festive and smooth)
• Russian Winter cocktail (creamy + cozy)
• Warm churros with dipping sauce
• Christmas cookies (adorable!)
• Flatbread
• Charcuterie board

If you’re looking for a fun, relaxed holiday night out in downtown Sarasota, this is such a cute place to sip something festive and enjoy the season. Save this spot for your next holiday outing. ❤️✨

There are Florida getaways… and then there are the ones that feel like stepping into an Old Florida hidden gem.

Our houseboat weekend at Holly Bluff Marina was exactly that — peaceful, slow, and a little bit magical.

Sunrise colors over the St. Johns River, manatees eating right beside the boat, the kids paddleboarding and kayaking like it was their own little world… and those quiet mornings that make everything feel softer.

Inside felt just as cozy — warm light, simple moments, the kids playing cards while the river moved around us.

It’s the kind of unique Florida stay you don’t realize you need until you’re actually living it.

And if you’ve ever wondered what a houseboat escape feels like, add this to your list — Holly Bluff even made it better for my followers:
