🐾 PLAN YOUR WHOLE FLORIDA TRIP AROUND YOUR DOG

🐾Happy National Dog Day!

πŸŽ‰ Skip the "pets allowed, good luck" motels β€” these Florida stays actually want your pup there.

Save this & plan your trip around them πŸ“Œ

🏝️ Margaritaville Resort β€” Orlando Key West vibes near the parks + Barkaritaville, an on-site off-leash dog park. Dogs up to 30 lbs. 🦜

🏰 The Don CeSar β€” St. Pete Beach The iconic "Pink Palace." Dog room-service menu 🍴 and a dog beach a 2-mile sidewalk stroll out the front door. 50lbs or less!

🌳 Lakeside Inn β€” Mount Dora Historic 1883 inn on Lake Dora. Dogs welcome at The Veranda's lakefront tables πŸ• Dogs up to 25 lbs.

πŸ›οΈ Bayfront Marin House β€” St. Augustine Old-town B&B that maps you a seawall walking route and hands over bowls, bags & treats. Dogs under 75 lbs.

β€” Then go explore πŸ‘‡

πŸ–οΈ Dog beaches: Brohard (Venice) Β· Fort De Soto (St. Pete) Β· Jupiter Dog Beach (2.5 mi OFF-LEASH)
🍴 Dog menus & pup cups: The Beachcomber (St. Aug) · UTiki (Jupiter) · Mayday Ice Cream
🚣 Paddleboard with your pup on Lake Dora
🐾 Cobblestone strolls, splash-pool dog parks & waterfront patios everywhere
AND SOOOO MUCH MORE...

⚠️ Always double-check each hotel's pet policy before booking β€” weight limits, fees & pet-room availability change often, so confirm when you reserve.

And FYI: most FL state parks allow leashed dogs but NOT on swim beaches or in the springs.

Where are you taking your pup first?

Have you heard of Crystal River? 🦭

Tucked along Florida's Nature Coast, this Citrus County town is one of the most underrated places to visit in Florida β€” and it's the *Manatee Capital of the World.* (An actual title.)

Here's why the whole area belongs on your list πŸ‘‡

🌊 **The springs.** Kings Bay is fed by 70+ springs pushing hundreds of millions of gallons of crystal-clear freshwater a day β€” including Three Sisters Springs, a constant 72Β° year-round.

🦭 **Swim with manatees.** Crystal River is the only place in the U.S. where you can *legally* swim with wild manatees. In winter, hundreds pile into the warm springs. *Note:* peak season (roughly Nov–March) closes off sanctuary zones to protect them, so swim spots shift by season β€” always go with a permitted guide.

πŸ›Ά **The water.** Kayaking, paddleboarding, scalloping, and fishing through some of the clearest water in Florida.

πŸ›οΈ **Old Florida charm.** A historic downtown, local art galleries, Native American mounds at Crystal River Archaeological State Park, waterfront seafood off the boat, and Homosassa's Monkey Island down the road.

**🧳 The coolcation kit:** Discover Crystal River sent us the perfect box β€” a waterproof phone pouch + water bag (you WILL be in the water), a hat + sunscreen, and a bag for a full day out. Consider it your packing list. 😎

Summer day trip or winter manatee bucket-list moment β€” Crystal River, we're coming for you. πŸ’™

πŸ‘‰ Want an awesome weekend itinerary for this beautiful town? Comment "CRYSTAL" and I'll send it to you. πŸ’™

This tiny Florida island might be the weekend getaway you didn't know you needed. 🌴✨

πŸ“ Boca Grande | Gasparilla Island, Florida

Think Old Florida charm with a little old-money energy β€” banyan-lined streets, golf carts, locally owned everything, gorgeous Gulf beaches and one seriously beautiful historic inn.

SAVE this mini Boca Grande itinerary πŸ‘‡

🌳 Wander Banyan Street β€” the iconic trees were planted in 1915
🚲 Rent bikes or a golf cart β€” the best way to explore the island
🏨 Stay at The Gasparilla Inn β€” historic, elegant and quintessential Boca Grande
πŸ–οΈ Beach hop along Gasparilla Island
πŸ’‘ Visit the historic lighthouse at the southern end of the island
🍦 Shop + eat local β€” you won't find the usual big chains here
🐘 Eat at The Pink Elephant β€” a Boca Grande classic
πŸŒ… End the day on the Gulf for one of those Florida sunsets you don't forget

This is the Florida getaway for anyone who likes their island escapes a little quieter, prettier and more Old Florida than high-rise resort. 🀍

SAVE this for a Florida weekend getaway + SHARE it with the person you'd bring.

We took the kids to a beautiful historic Florida hotel… and made the questionable decision to let Gen Z review it. πŸ˜‚

Turns out, they LOVED The Hacienda Hotel β€” they just have a very different way of saying it.

This beautifully restored 1927 hotel in New Port Richey gave us the best of both worlds: a stay with history and character that WE loved, and plenty for the kids to actually enjoy.

🎣 Fishing right behind the hotel
🌴 River views + Sims Park right outside
🍴 Dinner without leaving the hotel
🚢 Walkable to historic downtown New Port Richey
πŸ’• And a seriously beautiful place to call home for the weekend

Their official review? Immaculate aura. The views ate. The food was bussin'. And apparently, the courtyard is tough. πŸ˜‚

So for every parent currently raising a child who occasionally speaks another language, here's your cheat sheet:

πŸ“– THE GEN Z β†’ PARENT GLOSSARY

Tough = really cool
Immaculate aura = flawless vibe/energy
No cap = no lie / for real
Ate = absolutely nailed it
Bussin' = really, really good
It's a 10 = basically perfect / 10 out of 10
Mid = mediocre / nothing special
Slaps = exceptionally good
It's giving… = it has the vibe of…
Bet = okay / absolutely / I'm in
Rizz = charm / flirting ability
Cooked = you're done / things aren't looking good
6-7 = Nobody really knows. It's basically nonsense. Which is exactly why parents should use it CONSTANTLY. πŸ˜‚

Save this for your next family vacation. You may need a translator.

Florida parents: what did your kid say that made you realize you no longer speak the same language? πŸ˜‚πŸ‘‡
