My newest creation: Winnie's Wonder by Helen Shrimpton! Created for a coworker and her husband as a belated wedding gift. Knocked it out in only 3 weeks!!!

Made with a 5mm hook, it measures roughly 65" square. Yarn I used:
Loops and threads color craft
Black
Loops and threads soft classic

First try at amigurumi! My first official "Dammit Doll." Before he was even done, I had three people tell me they wanted one of their own.

Her is a rhyme explaining all about dammit dolls:

Whenever things don't go so well
And you want to hit the wall and yell
Here's a little dammit doll that you can't do without
Just grasp it firmly by the legs
And find a place to slam it
And as you whack the stuffing out
Yell "dammit, dammit, dammit!"

These dolls are available for commission orders, and they'll only take about a day each!

A little while ago, my neighbor wanted me to teach her how to crochet and I was so happy that she asked! However, I honestly had no clue where to start! So, I followed the time honored tradition of teaching her the same way I was taught by my 80 year old mentor several years ago: we started with a pot holder. Double layered, sc all the way (to practice with even tension and just getting a feel for the hook and yarn). It's a very forgiving pattern. Look how happy she is that she finished it!! I am so proud of her progress and how quickly she's picking things up! Our next project is hanging towels, and she's already practically completed her first one of those. I can already tell she's got the itch though, because she sent me pictures of the pretty new yarn that she bought a week ago, but showed up to the house with a color I hadn't seen! I am so happy, and more than a little proud! I TAUGHT HER HOW TO DO THAT!

I'm just about ready to admit defeat. It's just not in the cards for me to enter my crochet for judging at the fair. Back in MO, not a single person would give me information on how to enter my projects. Get down here and think "How cool would it be to enter my stuff at the fair I used to go to growing up?" But, after extensive online searches, phone calls, and even directly messaging whomever runs the page for the Onslow County Fair, I still have absolutely zero information on how to do it. So I guess I'll just sit back and do my best to keep creating and give up on the idea altogether...
