I have been laying low for the last week as we spent a week in the Scottish highlands with very little service. This was our view from our deck for most of the time, which was heavenly! Upon returning, I quickly turned around to head to a Taylor Swift concert in Zurich. We are finally getting back into a more consistent summer routine and I can’t wait to share more about our Scottish adventure!

With the holiday tomorrow, the weekend hits earlier than usual this week! What are your plans? Do you travel to see family and fireworks or take advantage of time off and jet off internationally? Maybe your town has an iconic celebration? Tell me about it!

It's been a little busy over here as we welcomed 11 (!!) visitors for the weekend. Half just left, and we are sad to see them go. It was fun-filled weekend doing all the local things - pizza, palaces, playgrounds, kugelbahns (pictured here), making chocolate, and getting groceries. We were quite the caravan with our three vans and 12 children everywhere we went! We will continue with the rest of the crew for remainder of the week. We have castles, shopping, hiking, and historical towns on the docket. I feel so lucky to live in such a great place for people to come visit!

Happy Friday!! A lot of people just got out of school (I’m looking at you, Maryland friends!). What are your plans this weekend? We are kicking it off with a family hike with our Cub Scout troop this afternoon, then we need to prepare for visitors arriving next week. What adventures do you have in store? Tell me about it!

As I’m getting ready to head back home from Istanbul, I can’t believe all the things we fit into two days! Thanks to some fantastic guides and experiences I found on Airbnb, we were able to get a great taste of the city. Both friends commented on how great the three different organized activities were. Whew!
The best part was our last night: first, we were privy to a sunset proposal on the Bosphorus. THEN we ran into the owner of a waterfront restaurant who made sure we got the best food and gave us free baklava, fruit, and tea to boot!
I love the adventures we have when we travel.
