Detailing & Polishing Specialist
Position Summary 👉
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Detailing & Polishing Specialist to join our team.
🚨 Pay starting at $70,000 per year
This position is responsible for maintaining the appearance and presentation of our fleet, including tow trucks, heavy-duty wreckers, semi-trucks, trailers, service vehicles, and equipment. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing showroom-quality results and understands the importance of presenting clean, professional equipment to customers and the public.
This role includes washing, detailing, polishing, paint care, aluminum and stainless-steel polishing, interior cleaning, and preparing new and existing vehicles for delivery, display, and service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities ➡️
- Wash, clean, and detail tow trucks, wreckers, semi-trucks, trailers, and company equipment.
- Perform interior and exterior detailing to company quality standards.
- Polish aluminum, stainless steel, chrome, and painted surfaces to maintain a professional appearance.
- Apply waxes, sealants, and protective coatings to vehicles and equipment.
- Buff and polish painted surfaces to remove oxidation, light scratches, and swirl marks.
- Clean and dress wheels, tires, wheel wells, toolboxes, and exterior accessories.
- Maintain cleanliness of truck cabs, interiors, windows, upholstery, dashboards, and storage compartments.
- Prepare new tow trucks and equipment for customer delivery and showroom presentation.
- Remove decals, adhesive residue, road grime, grease, and contaminants from vehicle surfaces.
- Operate detailing equipment including pressure washers, buffers, polishers, steam cleaners, vacuums, and extractors.
Inspect vehicles for cosmetic issues and report damage or concerns to management.
- Maintain detailing supplies, chemicals, and equipment in a clean and organized manner.
- Follow all safety procedures when handling cleaning products and operating equipment.
- Assist with shop cleanliness and appearance as needed.
Qualifications ➡️
- Previous detailing, polishing, fleet washing, or automotive appearance experience preferred.
- Experience polishing aluminum, chrome, stainless steel, or commercial vehicles is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to safely move and park vehicles and equipment.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
Preferred Skills ➡️
- Knowledge of paint correction and machine polishing techniques.
- Experience with commercial trucks, heavy-duty equipment, or towing/recovery vehicles.
- Familiarity with ceramic coatings, paint protection products, and aluminum restoration.
- Ability to identify and correct cosmetic imperfections.
