I know I said I would post weeks ago but I am in the middle of final exams here at Maritime College and prepairing to ship out overseas for two months in 13 days and counting. Much work has been done since this point and there will be more updates before I leave but what you see here is the fiberglassing in of the new laminated transom and the fairing work before a new coat of marine paint.

Firstly I hope you are finding some way to navigate this new society put in front of us with grace and courage, things will get better just keep the hope alive! Let's get caught up, so at the end of the 2020 summer season going into the fall my 1965 MFG Edinboro Custom, "Bridget", had a rotted transom and was crying for some serious attention. I knew this when I bought "Bridget" but did not have the financial stability to start an expensive repair at the time. The last two pictures are what was done before going back to SUNY Maritime for my last semester as a Sophomore year. Installed was the new laminated three-layer plywood core, laminated into the hull of the boat. So this is where I have begun since pulling it to the upper work garage where boats are worked on during the cold season. I have been going home every weekend I could putting over 20 hours of work on her within the short two days I'm home until having to go back. Stay tuned these next couple of weeks as I will post the progress that I have made in these past months.

Flipping through my pictures while trying to rest in my rack, I come across these memories that I will never forget. There are so many people who influenced me to get me to where I am today but I want to mention one now, Teddi Myllymaki. The skiff handed down to me known by many people as Bella was a life changer and in turn taught me values I carry to this day in college. It has taught me the value of patience, respect for the value of work and the concept of work ethic as well as selflessness. In the end the true award was getting to see the emulating smile on Teddi Myllymaki’s face! So thank you for what in the beginning I saw as a simple project but really in the end a priceless lesson of values!

Honestly not sure how to exactly describe this project yet but some components include a handmade runabout from a mahogany brick of wood and reusing antique bow lights to illuminate pictures that will be on a shelve. Also a unique component is handmade shelf brackets. Keep posted for progress!
