Yep- you heard right. VetteKartbyFly is now up for enjoyment by others! Well priced for the engineering marvel it truly has morphed into. Virtually every moving component was replaced in preparation for the Hot Rod Power Tour Long Haul, which was successfully completed!
New equipment added for the voyage:
Brakes: calipers, slotted rotors, pads and stainless brake hoses. New Ibooster from a 2022 Honda Accord Sport- I’ll be using this system in all future builds. Too simple, cost effective, and effective. Almost too good to be true for under $300 all in. New 5/8 bore wildwood hand brake master cylinder and Nameless Performance stick. Works awesome with the ibooster pass through.
Suspension: new greasable control arm Bushings from Top Flight Automotive on front. Refreshed AFCO 4100 series shocks by Speedway Motors shock shop. New AFCO chrome coil springs at all corners, 300 # front 200 # rear for the added rear weight. A new set of 150 # chrome springs included for non-touring ride control. New hub bearings all (4) corners. All adjustment rods on rear suspension replaced with aluminum swedge tubes and full floating heim joints.
Steering- improved EAPS gear from Kia Soul- same unit in Prius, Nissan leaf, etc. so simple to install and great to drive!
Drivetrain: new opti-spark, new fuel pump and relay. new fluids in engine, gearbox and rear differential. New flywheel and all clutch components including transmission slave cylinder were replaced in May 2026. New engine mount alternator by Mach, hi-output 130 amp, added to supplement the pinion-driven rear alternator due to extended idling / fan operation on the HRPT. Both are still on car and fully functional. Expanded metal weave added for radiator protection.
Freshened wiring harness with additional fused circuits, upgraded switch gear and a much cleaner appearance. All new LED headlights with DRL, turn / hazard and hi-lo beams as well as new rear sequential LED tail lamps. Added phone mounts and charging capability to both passenger and driver area. And the 200 watt Soundbar with disco lights is new as well.
Body-of which there is very little:! Snap on soft top by Tupelo Upholstery. Lexan air deflection package added for lessened cockpit turbulence and moisture control on A-pillars, rockers and side panels make a big difference in wind but more importantly in a driving rain! New rear wing with a true top fuel style mount system by Steve Winkler, chief fabricator.
This fine ride needs nothing more than a new owner to continue the great times
