Honoring a Legacy This Memorial Day

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor those who have served—and we reflect on a special story close to the heart of Smartway Express.

Tarsen Singh Sihota, the father of our owners Paul Sihota and Grandfather to Trey Sihota proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the attack cargo ship Seminole. Born in Punjab, India, he came to the United States with big dreams and a deep commitment to service. In 1956, he joined the Navy, and just a few years later, he became a naturalized U.S. citizen—a moment made possible through the support of President Eisenhower and Congressman D.S. Saund.

A devout Sikh and a man of principle, T.S. Sihota brought humility, strength, and discipline to everything he did. His journey from the fields of India to the decks of the U.S. Navy is not just a story of immigration—it’s a story of dedication, courage, and the American dream.

Today, we honor his memory and all the brave men and women who made the ultimate commitment to serve. 🇺🇸🙏
