Efficient Marine Services LLC My goal is to provide my clients with the products and knowledge they need to complete a project and operate their boat safely.

As well as providing parts and service at affordable rates. I have been around boats and the boating industry since 1986. I have worked in and around marine and auto/RV shops since about 1992. I started in the repair industry professionally in 1996 focused mainly in mechanical and hydraulic systems. In 2004 I expanded into full service of mechanical and electrical systems in automotive, RV and mar

ine. I got out of the fixed location repair shop side of it at the end of 2014 and have been strictly mobile since. My specialty is diagnostics and troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems and components. Good news/bad news. Good news is that the leaking shift cable bellows likely saved him from totally smoking the outdrive. About 1/3 of the gear oil was in the driveshaft bellows and poured out when I pulled the outdrive off. The upper gear housing was DRY. The bad news; the job is going to be a little more for a gear case reseal. And hope it's not destroyed. Surprisingly the upper bearing still feels smooth and isn't discolored from heat or anything. I hate making these phone calls to clients.

Garmin support said the Nexus jacks on their GND 10 black box are not serviceable. I call horse poo! Swapped the broken jack with the identical unused jack, voila, fixed in 15 minutes for $0. Saving my clients money and down time is what I do. That's the meaning of efficient.

On the Great Lakes, water levels don't fluctuate with the moon like ocean tides. They do however fluctuate more drastically and unpredictably from the wind. Here are some examples from a 4-5 period on May 26,2024 on Lake Erie. See the difference in levels between Gibraltar MI on the west end and Buffalo, NY on the east end of the lake. This was a sustained West-Southwest wind of 15-20 with gusts to 30. Keep your dock lines long and tied properly to avoid damage when the levels drop or rise rapidly.
