We are a small woman owned (family operated) kelp farm of the CT coast and are excited to share all the goodness that kelp has to offer our plates and the local water ways.

There’s a steady kind of peace that comes from farming a truly sustainable crop. Being back on the water at the start of the growing season brings a sense of calm and focus that’s hard to replicate anywhere else.

Early in the season, the kelp is smaller and tender — we call it baby kelp. When we trim about half of each blade, it regrows, allowing for multiple harvests from the same frond. It’s a simple, regenerative system that reflects the resilience of this crop.

Baby kelp is harvested sparingly each season, with care and intention. Today’s harvest will be headed to as soon as we get to the docks.

Growing season is here. 💚🌊

Stonington, Connecticut is where I now call home, and I couldn’t be more proud of this remarkable community. 🤍 I’m deeply grateful to live in a place that values culture, tradition, and the way people harvest from the sea.

Stonington is home to one of the last commercial fishing docks in Connecticut and still has a strong, working waterfront. That heritage is woven into everyday life here and shapes the character of the town in the most meaningful way.

If you visit the Lobster Pot Tree at the Stonington Town Docks, you immediately get a sense of what this community is all about. It’s creative. It’s whimsical. And it reflects the fishing community we all call home. Built entirely by volunteers and organized by the and cared for by volunteers, it’s truly a labor of love.

It’s one of my favorite Christmas traditions and a beautiful reminder that Stonington is built by its people. 🎄🦞

Year 9. New season. Same mission.
Growing kelp, growing community, growing resilience.
Not always easy, not always glamorous—but always worth it. 🌿🌊

In May, we completed a round of water and kelp testing in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Aquaculture (DABA).

Tests included:
• Plankton presence in the water
• Heavy metal content in our kelp (thanks to Matt at DABA)
• Nutritional analysis — iron, vitamins, minerals — with support from Zach Gordon at CT Sea Grant

We’re currently awaiting results and look forward to sharing what we learn about the health and quality of our farm and crops. Stay tuned!

We’re thrilled to share “Seaweed Stories,” a beautiful new documentary that highlights the power of seaweed to heal our oceans, support communities, and inspire innovation. 🌿🌊
From Shinnecock kelp farmers on Long Island to scientists in South Korea and entrepreneurs reimagining plastic, this film captures the global impact of seaweed — and why it matters.

As a regenerative ocean farm, we see these stories reflected in our own work: growing native sugar kelp, restoring marine ecosystems, and building a more sustainable coastal future right here at home.
This is more than farming — it’s a movement.
