Mike Kelley is retiring after 37 years (yes, 37 years) at Metal Exchange!
Mike started at MX in 1989. Known not only for his tall stature and impeccable mustache, Mike lived out our core values. Customers knew that when Mike hit an obstacle, he rarely settled for the quick workaround. He cared about the need, stayed with the problem, came back to it, and kept working until he found a solution. Some of what he built that way will far outlive his time here and shape the world of aluminum for years to come. A single request would turn into a working relationship, and that relationship would run for decades, on trust he re-earned every time.
Thirty-seven years also means Mike saw this company grow into what it is today. He was here through both generations of Leftons, the expansions, the hard markets, and the decisions that shaped where we are now. Not many people get to watch a business grow over that span, let alone have a hand in it.
We sent him off with a surprise he didn't expect…his family showed up to celebrate with him! A fitting way to close out 37 years. Congratulations, Mike. We will miss you!
