Okay, I officially understand the Universal Freestyle cup hype. 😂🥤

The cup costs around $24–$30 initially, depending on the design, and then it’s only about $6 to reactivate it for all-day use on another day.

That’s roughly the price of ONE bottled water in the parks—for refills all day! 🤯

You can refill it every 10 minutes, and I used mine for Vitaminwater throughout our trip. It tasted good, kept me hydrated, and was much more enjoyable than constantly buying bottles of plain water.

With all the walking we did, this was easily one of the most useful purchases we made. It saved us money, kept me drinking throughout the day, and became a fun souvenir to bring home!

My travel-advisor verdict: absolutely worth it. 💙

What would you put in yours first?

Travel Tip Tuesday—on a Wednesday because vacation hydration matters every day. 😂💧

Start hydrating before your travel day, especially before long flights or full park days. Future-you will be very grateful.

Cabana Bay is such a cool hotel to stay at. What's not to love! Malt Shop, Seasonal decor, Starbucks, multiple food counters at Bayliner Diner. And Bowling upstairs!
The family suites are amazing so big with a fridge and microwave and disposable cutlery and dishes. The entire room was adorable and the pull out couch was perfect for my younger adult sibling. They had their own space and bed was comfy. 10 out of 10 stars.
Breakfast was pretty basic goodies. I recommend the omlette and French toast massive servings coffee was kinda gross but there's a Starbucks in lobby. 24/7 Frozen Yogurt and a Malt Shop.
Sausage was stellar and so was the teriyaki lo mein. This hotel is fun affordable and close to the parks.
The staff were so helpful and accommodating I dislocated my knee on day 2 and had to scooter around and they got us a discounted extra night since we missed our shuttle. And the scooter was picked up that evening so security came and wheeled me up to our room.
So amazing! thank you to everyone at Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort You were amazing!

If you’re planning Epic Universe with someone who has sensory sensitivities, here’s one thing I think is really important to know:

A low-crowd day does not necessarily mean a low-sensory day.

I visited Super Nintendo World on what was considered a pretty low-crowd day, and crowd-wise, it honestly felt very manageable.
But the sensory environment was much more intense than I expected.

The best comparison I can give is this:
If a place like Dave & Buster’s can overwhelm your child, imagine stepping inside a giant video game.

There’s music, game sounds, interactive effects, attraction noises, voices and constant movement happening all around you.
I could barely hear my mom standing right next to me.
After about 10 minutes, I personally reached the point where I needed to leave the land and take a break.

And I want to be really clear:
This is NOT me saying Super Nintendo World is bad or that sensory-sensitive guests shouldn’t go.
The immersion is part of what makes this land so incredible.
But that same level of immersion may feel very different from one guest to another.

That’s why I think sensory planning needs to go beyond crowd levels and wait times.
If you’re traveling with a child or adult who is especially sensitive to sound or lots of competing sensory input, one thing I would consider is having an adult scout the land first if your party is able to split up.

Let one parent or caregiver walk through the portal for a few minutes while someone else stays with your child.
Listen to the environment.
Look at how much is happening at once.
Then make the decision based on the person you know best.
Maybe you bring hearing protection.
Maybe you plan a shorter visit.
Maybe you build in a break before and after.
Maybe you decide another time of day would work better.
Or maybe you decide that particular experience just isn’t the right fit for this trip.
There is no one-size-fits-all answer.

Nobody knows your child better than you do.

My goal with posts like this isn’t to tell families where they should or shouldn’t go.
It’s to give you information that might help you walk into the park a little more prepared.
Because knowing what to expect can make a HUGE difference. ❤️

You don’t need to know exactly where to stay, how many park days to purchase, which tickets make sense, or how to organize every detail before reaching out to a travel advisor.

Helping you make those decisions is part of my job. 💙

I’m a certified travel agent specializing in Disney Destinations and Universal, and my vacation-planning services are complimentary when you book through me.

Whether this is your first theme-park vacation, a long-awaited return, or a celebration your family will remember forever, I would love to help make it WOW-worthy. ✨

Let’s settle this based entirely on your vacation personality. 👀

🏰 Choose Disney if you want beloved characters, classic attractions, immersive storytelling, nighttime spectaculars, and plenty of nostalgic magic.

🦖 Choose Universal if you want thrilling attractions, immersive worlds, mischievous energy, Butterbeer, dinosaurs, monsters, and adventures that feel larger than life.

💙 Choose both if you refuse to be placed inside a neat little vacation box.

Which one sounds most like your family: Disney, Universal, or both?

A successful theme-park vacation can look different for every traveler. 💙

For a sensory-sensitive or neurodivergent guest, thoughtful planning might include:

✨ Knowing where quieter spaces are located
✨ Building decompression time into the day
✨ Preparing for loud shows, crowds, and unfamiliar environments
✨ Choosing comfortable clothing instead of forcing a themed outfit
✨ Creating a flexible plan that allows the family to change course

Accessibility planning isn’t about removing the excitement. It’s about making that excitement feel more manageable, comfortable, and inclusive.

Every family deserves the opportunity to experience the magic in the way that works best for them.

Breakfast, but make it magical. ✨🇫🇷

We tried several crêpes at Café L’Air de la Sirène, and just look at that presentation! From fresh berries and savory breakfast flavors to the completely over-the-top Butterbeer crêpe, this was such a fun way to start our park day.

This is exactly why I travel what I sell—I want to experience the restaurants, resorts and little details myself so I can give my guests recommendations based on more than a menu description. 💙

Which one would you order: sweet, savory or Butterbeer?

I found one of the most unexpectedly immersive details at Universal Orlando…in a bathroom. 😂🔐

Even the stalls near Gringotts have vault-style handles that you have to spin to open.

I’ve seen countless Wizarding World videos online, but I had never seen anyone show this before. Universal really said the theming doesn’t stop—even when you have to go. 🪄
